Poorly manufactured seal for Freezer

I purchased this Oct. 18th, 2025. Since then I have had a service technician come over to my house 3 times. The freezer seal is manufactured poorly. It does not seal. The seal was reviewed twice and on the third visit it was replace. And this weekend I noticed it still has a gap.

Overall, I like the large capacity of my new appliance and the fact that it has French doors. (although it has a water supply line inside it, I decided not to hook it up.) It works just great. Now, It is a little different from my old one. I am still somewhat at odds understanding the configuration of the shelves. The fridge part is tall and deep and sometimes I find myself on tip toes trying to place or get something from the back of the top shelf. It is hard to accomodate the food and the tall items such as gallon of milk, juice etc. I had to re-read the paper manual to acquaitance myself with the fridge. So i took my time in deciding what went here or there. It took me more then a week to realized that the front part of the top shelf actually is made to drop down, push back and you will have room to store this tall items. But is just half a shelf, not enough room. The design for the configuration of where you want them to be is already made by the manufacturer. Also, the front of the shelves are designed like a stair, eliminating or taking away more space from the front of it. I like the capacity of the vegetable and fruits drawers, as well as the deli drawer. However, the plastic mayerial used is not quite as I would like to be. Stronger and thicker material would have been excellent choice. I noticed that the same situation (plastic used) too thin and delicate to used in the freezer portion. It appears to be roomy but then again it is not quite as big. I am outlining these items because for the price of this appliance and the quality of the inside shelving i was surprised. I have to say that the energy used, and constant temperatures in the fridge and freezer are an A PLUS. The fridge doors are roomy. The motor and compressor are quiet. Sometimes I stop tp make sure everything is OK. (I want to point out that this is my opinion and at my age I am set on my ways.) Overall, I do recommend this refrigerator to anyone looking for a new appliance.

DEFECTIVE FREEZER DOOR

Leaking Freezer Door 12/31/2025

A major problem has been the freezer door. It leaks and frozen foods thaw. We got this brand new refrigerator only about 3 months ago, and we have had to have GE service technicians come to our home to fix the SAME IDENTICAL PROBLEM THREE times. It does not stay repaired: within a couple of weeks the same problem occurs again. The third repair was only two weeks ago, and the leak is starting to happen again! THIS IS A LEMON AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED! The capacity, temperature and shelving are all OK.

French door bottom freezer, water inside refrigerator. Just installed two hours ago. Really quiet operation, just a whisper, exceed my expectations. Really great lay out with movable partition in large drawer. And freezer really great with top tray with moveable divider and slides COMPLETELY back on rollers to give FULL access to bottom drawer, again with full depth moveable divider to keep items neat and stacked. Water filter really convenient location inside retrig at top corner with very easy access. Too early for operation comments,

LOTS OF SPACE

I gave it 5 stars. It has lots if space. However I must say this: the shelving configuration does not allows for a better use of the space. It took me about 3 days to understand that the top shelf could be pushed back to allow taller items to be store, ie, 1/2 gallon milk, or 1 g. Nor a large bottle of soda. Also, you only have 1/2 a shelf fir such items. The qyal7ty if drawers or bins look cheap and fragile. They do not slide with ease when you open them. The freezer drawers are made cheap looking too.(I want to point out, that I am asenior person used to things built differently) Really, I feel I have to be careful when opening them. OVERALL, I must say I love my refrigerator and pray that it lasts for a long time. GEproducts have been in the market since I was a child and the rule was that if it wasn't GE, it was not good. I thank my Lord for providing me a fridge when I needed the most. And it is a GE!

I love this fridge. I was afraid it might be too big for my kitchen, but it fits and I love it. It has so much room and I love the adjustable shelves. The freezer is easy to find everything at site and has tons of space. I love that I can set the temperature on the fridge and the freezer separately. And it keeps my food the temp I want. Cold drinks and fresh food. Can't say enough good things about this refrigerator.

We purchased our frig about 6 weeks ago and are very happy with it overall. Capacity is excellent and the interior lighting is great. We™€™re experiencing some frost in the freezer so we™€™re fiddling with the gasket and that seems to be working. The water dispenser is difficult to use and the water is not very cold. The ice maker works very well so far but it™€™s only been a few weeks. We have an all white kitchen so we wanted the frig in white. It took a few weeks to get, and was an extra $800 or so which I find excessive.

well, i purchased this in april to be delivered in late may. the refrigertor front doors were damaged. sao it was returned and a replacement was sent june, 3. I,absolutely, love all the refrigerator space, the gallon side pockets, makes lots of ice, cold water inside door hinge, the 3 drawers in the fridge can be agjusted depending on what you keep in them, and there is way more capacity in the one drawer freezer than i expected. it also has a shelf that slides back in the refrigerated section for tall items. we have a gallon tea dispenser there. very handy. my previous refrigerator had an in-door ice and water dispenser which was only able to produce a 24 oz cup of ice every hour, it was not useful and the ice maker took up a lot of room in the refrigerator. the refrigerator had 2 freezer drawers. which was actually a small area. had to have a chest freezer while we had it. with thisGE french door/1 freezer drawer refrigerator, it is energy efficient, high capacity, fast ice making, cools easily because the air can circulate. i dont have it crammed together even though it is the same amount of food. would definitely recommend this product.

The bottom freezer appears to not being able to keep a"0°" temp. We have an appointment with GE Service on Junee 3. Hopefully the issue will be addressed. The refrigerator section has fluctuating temperature. The unit has trouble maintaining 37°. It will fluctuates up to 42 degrees. Need to know if this is standard for this model.

This unit replaced a side by side with water and ice dispenser on the door. We decided to go with internal water and ice in order to save space in the refrigerator section but now wish we had gotten the dispensers in the door for better convenience. We like the refrigerator section as it's very roomy, well organized and well lit. It's taking a little getting use to as we have to usually open both doors to access anything so we're wondering about energy usage. The bottom freezer is large but arranging things for convenient access is a bit daunting and different than our old side by side. The ice bin is too large for our needs and takes up valuable space for other items. We've jury rigged a spacer to cut down the space. The shut off for the ice maker is very inconvenient. An electrical switch located towards the front would be an easy addition. The unit run time seems good but when running, there is a noticable noise that is more evident than was in our old unit.

I love the French door bottom freezer style. Everything is easily visible when opening any door. I purchased this model because I didn't need all the latest bells and whistles and it had an excellent rating on consumer reports. It is also one of the few brands who still make white.

Comparing old to new fridges

Everything works fine after about 6 weeks but I am not yet able to get this fridge to fit what I used to fit in my same-size same-style old fridge. The freezer definitely does not have enough room for what I used to store in the old fridge. The upper fridge will not hold 4 gallons of milk at one time like the old one did and will not hold in the fruit and veggie drawers the amounts the old one did. I™€™m still modifying my shopping and everything related to food storage and use to allow for these changes. I do like the in-door shelves because unlike my old fridge, they do not anything slip out of openings in the front sides.

The design, capacity and features are nice, and appreciate the inside water dispenser. The rest is less desirable. Not a fan of the flat exterior handles on the refrigerator & freezer. IMO, round handles are comfortable on the hands when opening. The inside shelves and draws are not too sturdy nor made of good quality. The refrigerator/freezer is quite often loud. I hear it running without wearing my hearing aids. Lastly, the freezer door didn™€™t completely close one time and there was no warning, as there was supposed to be, so freezer remained open for a good 15 hours. I would never purchase again and definitely wouldn™€™t recommend to family and friends.

Unable to level refrigerator. Wheels are not adjustable. I can't be only one with uneven tile floor. Also refer does not appear to be Square???

Unit operates satisfactorily and does its required functions. However, I find it to be a noisy for a modern (and somewhat expensive) refrigerator. I believe it is the evaporator fan that makes an irritating whining noise when the kitchen is quiet. Also, that little rubber tube that serves as an internal water dispenser is pretty useless except for a flexible cup. You can spill water pretty easily if you are not careful. in contrast to the noise from the fan, the door open alarm is not loud enough (my opinion). Not sure I would buy again.

Finally, a Great French Door Refrigerator.

This unit replaced the Samsung French Door RF28T5001 (which died after less than 3 years) The GE Model surpasses the Samsung refrigerator Case construction and Case finish. The GE Interior is also of a higher quality.... this includes the shelving, drawers and door bins. The packing was over the "top". The Refrigerator exterior as well as all the glass shelves and clear plastic drawers and door bins were covered in protective film and Styrofoam. It took a while to remove everything. But definitely worth it for the potential scratching that could have occurred during the shipping, handling and installation. The only downside is that the unit was not leveled and slopes forward. Not sure how but will have to follow-up to remedy that. This is actually being used as a secondary refrigerator in the garage. I would be thrilled with it in my Kitchen. Mechanically it is too soon to comment. The unit easily started-up and runs very quietly. Thanks GE.

For one thing, when you pull out the freezer drawer, the top drawer comes first allowing easy access to the ice cubes. The LED lighting greatly enhances the brightness inside.

The refrigerator is really very nice, big, roomy and holds much stuff!! The LED lighting is such a nice feature as it comes on brighter and brighter as you open the doors....the shelving is great and the one that slides back is terrific because then you can put taller bottles on the shelf....I am really happy that I bought this fridge and I am sure I will have years of use from it...It makes great ice cubes and the freezer compartment is deep and holds a lot....not much not too like about it. I have only had it a month but so far very pleased.

New basic refrigerator 27"

Even though this is a GE basic refrigerator. It is well made. Has amble room for food and many shelves and door shelves. I would recommend this refrigerator as quality. I did purchase a 5 year extended warranty.. I DO NOT USE THE ICE MAKER. The Only problem is the installer failed to turn off the ice make, therefore, it makes a loud motor sound and it is like a Mac truck running through your kitchen. if you encounter this problem turn off the ice maker and make sure water is not hooked up and turned on.
