I bought this refrigerator in May of 2026, because I needed a 33 inch Refrigerator for the space i have, I am very disappointed not value for money, The display board is not legiable, the Ice maker do not work and the cooling is very poor, i bought it for oversea and its not working GE / Home Depo is not accepting responsibility for the issue i am having and Home Depo. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Cools well. Ice and water dispense works well. Nice lighting inside. Shelves not adjustable enough - door won't hold a corked wine bottle. Compressor is relatively noisy and can be heard in adjacent rooms. Vibration can also be felt. Buttons to switch between water, cubes and crushed are too sensitive and can switch modes in the middle of dispensing. No display of current fridge and freezer temp. No problem with frost. Should be more feature-rich in this price range.

Nice, but needs some improvements

We have just installed this today. It seems to be cooling OK. It is not noisy. I wish there was an area for a butter dish that closes like I've always had on other refrigerators. I also wish the front panel was easier to see. We are seniors, so it is much harder for us. Our previous refrigerator lit up all the selections when you touched the panel so it was easy to see your but this one only lights up the selections. Removing the film helped a little, but not a lot. Also wish there was a drip pan under the water spigot instead of just a flat piece of plastic. If there are drips, it will just drip onto the floor because there is nothing there to stop it. I REALLY wish GE had a 33-inch refrigerator with access to the large drawer from the outside. Because we have a small space, we had to just get this French door refrigerator with large drawer on the inside. We use that drawer so much, it would be really nice to be able to access it from the outside. Choices are very limited if you need a smaller refrigerator. They make this one in a 36 inch, so don't know why they couldn't make a 33-inch refrigerator with the drawer access from the outside. I hope this refrigerator lasts until I am long gone.

Nice looking but this refrigerator is extremely LOUD! We were forced to buy this because of size constraints and it was expensive compared to the 36" models. The bins are a cheap plastic and I am very disappointed with the noise. Also, the front panel showing "water", "ice", etc is not back-lit and is hard to read. The lettering is too small. I would give this fridge a "C" rating.

Replaced our sixteen year old GE 22.1 cubic foot side by side model with this one. Our kitchen space is limited and had to stick with the 33" size. One reason we purchased a French Door is for the three crisper drawers. Would have purchased another side by side if GE would have kept the three crisper drawers. We just have to rearrange a few items in order to fit he current shelf configuration; it does seem to have enough shelving. So far the unit seems to be cooling down to the correct temperature and is much quieter than our last one. The doors close gently. The freezer area is larger than our old one which is nicer for family dinners and holidays. Even though the previous unit was energy efficient, it's nice having one that will cost less in the long run. This is our first French Door model which is a learning process for us. Will see how things go. As stated before this isn't our first GE appliance and will compare if this unit has more or less issues than the side by side.

We love our new refrigerator. We went on vacation and at our vacation house they had a similar refrigerator. We have small house so a small kitchen as well and liked the idea of French doors because of the smaller door swing. And we actually liked the freezer at the bottom better. And once we got used to it we found it to be perfect.

This may be the worst refrigerator I've ever purchased. Do not purchase. The positives: fairly attractive, the stainless steel surface is magnetic, the lighting is bright and illuminates everything. The bad: the doors are cheap feeling and don't stay open. The left door has a huge ice maker and has very little storage. The cooling system ha a design flaw which causes it to freeze up and make the fridge run continuously and loudly until it thaws. The water filter needs to be ge branded only which is expensive and unnecessary. Do not buy.

If I could give a lower rating I would! This refrigerator we bought from Fullerton Appliances in Erie Pa was delivered to us on November 7th 2025. From the first day this refrigerator has been a big pain in the butt. It has a very loud whine and it runs all the time. The guys who installed it took some readings and said it needed a new mother board, they came back about a week later and replaced the motherboard and the fan. We gave it a week and called them back. No change in the sound and it still was running a lot. They came back took more readings and they didn't understand why it was running so much and the high pitch sound was the fan running, probably nothing else they could do about that. (Since then I've measured the sound level and it has been hitting as high as 58 decibels). The tech said he had to call the factory to see about why it was running so much and he'd ask about the sound. That was on Monday December 1st. Today is December 10th and still nothing back from them. I would love for them to came and take this $3000.00 piece of junk out of here. I am going to, call Fullertons a little later today but I'm not hopeful they are going to do anything soon. Let me just say that we are very disgruntled.

Seems to be quite noisy when running. The ice dispenser is too wide at the exit and ice chips fall all over the floor even with a fairly large mouth glass. The outlet should be tapered more. The ice outlet tray should have a bigger lip so any thing drops it doesn't go to the floor

I received my new GE French Door 33" wide refrigerator in September and am loving it so far. It has good lighting, is very quiet, offers good shelving configurations and fits well into my rather small kitchen. It replaced a Samsung refrigerator, which I loved but had several problems with over the eight years I had it, including a broken ice maker having the compressor break twice. I did a lot of research on refrigerators before selecting this new GE model, and hope everything I learned about it will prove to be true. The only thing I'm not super happy about is the depth of the drawer than spans the width of the unit. It is quite shallow and this makes it difficult to reach items at the back of the drawer. Otherwise, I like it very much!

Very disappointed to date. 5 months in and the freezer is frosted over, things are freezing in the fridge, and the water dispenser works intermittently. And yes, I've turned up the temperature on both halves, and it hasn't made a difference. Frankly, the whole thing feels very cheap/flimsy.

Product received with damage to bottom of refrigerator. Didn't notice upon delivery. Noticed two days later. Contacted purchasing agent. One service tech called it over insulation causing bottom to bulge and push out bottom. GE tech called it compression marks. On hold with customer service 20 minutes with hold times increasing. Finally requested call back. On phone with customer service additional 45 minutes. Customer service stated not warranty repair. We've had refrigerator less than 1 month. $3000 unit received with damage and GE doesn't stand behind product. Customer service nothing they will do.

During some remodeling, our old refrigerator died. It was a Kenmore. I have always had Sears Kenmore appliances. It was the condenser, it was going to cost more to fix tan a new one. We decided to get a new one. I knew my dimensions and what features I wanted. Since my house was built in 1913, my space was limited. I could go up, but not bigger sideways. Everything was either 30 inches or 36 inches with what I wanted, Ice and water in the front of the door. Well, I needed 33 inches, or a major kitchen renovation, which was not going to happen. Time and time again, this GE model was what I found. Then I went through where to buy. We live kinda in a rural area, so most places had delivery charges, some even tacked on mileage there and back! We went to Grand TV and appliances in Orlando Park, Illinois. Our salesman showed us the refrigerator and we bought it. Best deal we found out of 35 places I looked. The refrigerator is good. My only complaint is how noisy the crushed ice dispenser is and how wide of an area it comes out from. Aside from that, it fit perfectly where we needed it to. The Stainless steel looks sleek and clean.

They send a new door, they set up appointment for whenever they want to install the new door, you takeoff time away from work. The morning off they call you and say sorry we can™€™t do it today. They set up the appointment again for whatever day that is more convenient for them. You spend time on the phone Monday, Tuesday trying to get your compensation for their irresponsibility. They call you to offer you 3 month ™€œfree extended warranty™€ which is with a 3rd party company. Well guess what I said I don™€™t want that, I don™€™t believe in your brand anymore. I regret buying GE, I should have chosen Whirlpool.

Good overall but configuration design is lacking

Good Overall. Shelves are not located at convenient levels. Hard to store a larger bottle. Much worse than our previous Samsung. External ice and water dispenser work well but are located a bit lower than expected. That makes them easily reachable for a child. But it does cool/freeze well. Todate the only negative marks I would give, are the noise level of the auto ice maker , and the noise level of the water as it refills this feature.

It is very noisy. I have had multiple family members visit and question what the noise was. You cannot read the words for the ice/water unless looking at them at a certain angle. The ice is very slow making and has been getting slower. When pushing for ice, some water will drip out. The water is very slow to come out. I normally don't do reviews, but we are so unhappy with this purchase. We needed a certain size and needed before Easter when our other one stopped working. I thought I just needed to get use to the noise, but them when multiple people at different times commented on the noise, I decided it wasn't just me. We have only had it 2-3 months.

Our new GE fridge has been working well for us. My only slight issue is that the control panel for the water, ice, temp controls, etc. is VERY hard to read. The letters blend right into the background. But that is a minor issue, overall it has worked out well.

The refrigerator seems to work fine but when it comes to your average refrigerated items nothing seems to fit quite right. The shelves limit the height of certain items and with a large family that regularly has several items like salsa, milk, sour cream, mayonnaise, ketchup, mayonnaise, etc., things get overcrowded quickly and when you get to that point putting anything new in requires taking something out or else things start falling out. And once shelves get full the sliding shelving starts to droop or slide due to the weight of things being placed on it. These are things the average family of 6 normally has in a refrigerator

Poor temperature control, noisy

Multiple repair service calls, replaced temperature unit circuit board among other pieces. Refrigerator was unable to balance temperature between freezer and refrigerator compartment. Either freezing in refrigerator or above 40F. Eventually replaced entire unit after 2+ months of service calls. New unit is very noisy, have a service call in for that.

The doors don™€™t close easily. You can™€™t read the front panel control buttons. The refrigerator and freezer settings should tell you what the TEMP IS IN THE FRIG OR FREEZER, not what the setting is set at. Overall poor design, and expensive, for somr=ething that may last 4 - 5 years. Sad.

Not off to a great start

The fridge overall is just ok. The lighting inside is nice. The shelves are just ok. The doors do not open and close well. The freezer drawers do not glide smoothly. The inside of the fridge gets too cold and is freezing things that shouldn't be frozen (despite being set at 38*). Everything on the inside feels cheap (and this fridge is NOT cheap by any standards). To make it worse, I cannot even speak to the water and ice because it doesn't work. We had to call for service not even 12 hours after install of this brand new appliance. GE Customer service was great and I'm sure the issue is a fluke... but overall it's just a bummer.

Refrigerator is extremly loud every cycle. Motor sounds like an engine and gurgles like water is running out somewhere. Can be heard over the TV. Ice maker crushed ice setting barely breaks cubes up.

The layout of the shelving is a little wierd. It does not hold 2 liter bottles upright, no butter compartment and only a 1 gallon milk bottle capacity in the door. Both doors need to be opened to pull out the drawers. The vegatable and cold cut drawers could be deeper. The shelves are not adjustable to convenient heights. We had to have service because the drinking water line froze. Poor engineering caused cold air to blow on the inside of the door freezing the coil of water. A new piece had to be installed.
