This microwave is the only one I have found that is white and fits properly in the custom built shelf and frame in my kitchen. Unfortunately this is also the third one I've had to buy. First lasted 7 years, the #2 lasted 5years, we'll see how long #3 lasts. Kind of sad they can't build a reliable product, but that's GE appliances these days!

A few "short" comings

This microwave works flawlessly and as advertised. I am disappointed that I cannot directly enter a cook time less than 30 seconds. More importantly, I am disappointed that one foot seems to be shorter than the other three, causing the microwave to wobble when the controls are touched. This microwave has an exceedingly short power cord which required us to rearrange / re-wire a power outlet to allow the microwave to be used on the microwave cart that has been in our kitchen for 20 years or so. A power cord that is just four inches longer would have been better for us.

While I think the one-star rating should really be higher, I never got to use the microwave. It had a shorted out panel inside that caused it to not function properly from the start. I believe this is more of a quality control failure rather than an issue with GE products in general since I've had many of that brand with no problem. Returned it the next day to the retailer and got a different brand from a different retailer simply because that's what I could get immediately.

I purchased this same model less than two years ago. The heating unit quit, even though it was still under the parts warranty it cost more in labor charges to repair than it was worth. Only reason I bought another was because any other white microwave was not available in any other brand. Hopefully this one will preform better.

This microwave is perfect for my needs. Most of all I like the revolving plate--my old, old, previous micro didn't have one. I also especially like the "beverage" and "vegetables" buttons. This microwave is solidly constructed. The door operates and closes well. It is big enough for a large dinner plate or casserole dish. The wattage is more than sufficient without taking up too much counter space. The controls are very intuitive to operate and easy to read; automatic minutes, sensor heating for specified items, reheat, 30 second button, good defrost function. The clock is easy to see across the room and is simple to set. We couldn't have asked for anything more and are very pleased with this unit.

My new GE Microwave is Perfect. I have used it everyday and it has performed as expected! The oven is well constructed - ample space inside. I was happy to find the oven in white which is getting hard to find. It certainly is of less weight than my previous Sharp oven which died. The oven arrived on time and was undamaged in shipment. I was able to remove it from the bench outside my front door and carry it into the kitchen, unpack it and lift it onto the counter -- I am in my later 70s! Thank You GE for producing outstanding products - I also, at same time, purchased a GE Range and I am greatly satisfied with it too.

Bought an out box at great price. Way bigger the old dieing Sharp of 15 years. Controls are simple and easy to use. Had to have 1100 watt power to match the old. And 1.4 compared to old 1.1. Basically looks a little taller then that old sharp. Which is better yet for those taller objects... Bowls, etc. Old one saw this new one and now has second life still popping corn. Table which was stopping and making noise now is seeming better. So now have this great new one just waiting in the box ready for that Sharp not to be so. And best still white inside and out. Not gray or black like most new models. Can see to clean when white...

We purchased this microwave based on the excellent 25 year service we received from our previous GE unit. This unit is a comparable model. Everything is fine EXCEPT; the power cord of this new unit does not reach the outlet in the same location as our previous unit. The solution in the instruction manual states to never use an extension cord but to call an electrician and have an outlet installed. This is utterly ridiculous!! Remove one microwave, install another in same place and need to add an outlet... VERY INCONVENIENT. I question whether i will purchase another GE product based on this unacceptable situation.

Had a Kenmore for 28 years which I relly liked so wasn't sure I would find one that I liked as well. after reading reviews settled on GE and glad I did.. Heats quickly. Really like the configuation of the shortcuts especially timed heating. you can hit the time and straight down to minutes and down to start SO perfectly aligned that you can practically do it without looking. Just the right size to fit in our "microwave compartment: that is part of our cabinets.Quiet operation. Also, like that it only beeps once when food is done so no aggravating beeps continuing.

I™€™m not a fan of the childproof lock. I did disable it cos I have no children. I heated up water to try it out and it was hot in 30 seconds. It is lighter than I thought and you will need a stable surface to set it down on or it will slide.
